The UCC Library is a modern working university library, providing a full range of high quality services based on both print and electronic media to students, faculty, staff, alumni and external users.

It operates within the vision of making UCC the University of Choice. The services include library orientation for freshmen and women, loaning out books and receiving them when they are due, Inter-Library Lending/Document Delivery (lLUDD), Photocopying, Book Binding, and services for the Visually Impaired, Physically challenged and Distance learners.


Information Retrieval Course

An important aspect of the Library's educational mission is to promote and develop informational literacy in its users. Information literacy, in general, is the ability to "identify, locate, use and interpret information effectively so that the information literate student understands many of the economic, legal and social issues surrounding the access and use of information ethically and legally. To this end, Information Retrieval Course is a basic requirement for the award of diplomas and degrees at UCC. The course is designed and taught by a team of professional librarians.


Library Products

The library's products include the Library Guide and Library Bulletin. The Guide is issued annually and given to all freshmen and women admitted into the University. It is purposely designed to assist them find their way about in the Library. The Bulletin, on the other hand, informs the academic community about what new additions the Library has added to the stock within a specified period of time, usually three months. These are distributed to all the academic departments and schools of the University.
